Updated: Apr 18

Beautiful gardens amongst ponds

The Central Coast, a treasure trove of attractions and culinary delights, offers a plethora of unique things to do on the Central Coast that you won't want to miss. While many of these gems are featured on our tours, taking a day trip from Sydney to explore this diverse region is a rewarding endeavor.

Embark on a cruise along the picturesque Hawkesbury River to uncover the secrets of locally-grown Akoya pearls. Visit a pearl oyster lease, immerse yourself in a captivating pearl grading experience, or take home a precious pearl as a memento. The allure of this hidden gem lies not just in its stunning location but also in the captivating tale behind these rare ocean gems.

For the adventurous souls who relish the great outdoors, Glenworth Valley beckons. Located just an hour's drive north of Sydney, this haven offers horse riding, glamping, kayaking, and quad biking in a picturesque valley. It's also a hub for occasional wine, food, and music festivals. Don't miss the exhilarating "running of the horses," a daily spectacle where up to 200 horses dash through a rainforest creek.

Nestled in downtown Terrigal, Crowne Plaza hotel awaits with its splendid views of the sea, formal eateries, restaurants, beer gardens, and live music on weekends. Escape the bustle of Sydney and indulge in buffet breakfasts, poolside relaxation, and leisurely explorations of the seaside village at sunset.

The Terrigal Boardwalk offers a breathtaking coastal cliff-edge walk connecting Terrigal Beach to Terrigal Haven. Completed in late 2021, this path hugs the rugged coastline, providing panoramic views of the sea. Start your journey outside Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific, and venture up to The Skillion for a chance to spot dolphins or whales.

This tour favorite is known for its gourmet setting and exquisite food. Located amid a stunning landscape, the restaurant celebrates Australiana with a dining menu showcasing Australian native ingredients. The bakery tempts with a wide range of pastries. Make reservations for breakfast or lunch well in advance to savor this culinary experience.

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, our tour makes a stop at The Boathouse for lunch, but it's equally enchanting for a waterfront dinner. Relish fantastic seafood and generous portions in a gorgeous setting. Vegetarian options are available, but it's the seafood that shines here. Mid-week visits are recommended to avoid crowds.

This waterside restaurant and fish market is a tour favorite, offering great food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a stunning location. If you're a fan of fresh seafood, you've found your spot. Forget the Sydney Fish Market; this unpretentious gem serves delicious seafood and the best fish and chips in NSW. Keep an eye out for the giant pelicans just outside the restaurant!

Days open: Thursday to Monday.
